Veterinarian and Medical Director

Dr. Andy Stevens

Dr. Stevens is happy to be back to his roots in Dane County and caring for Madison area canines at City Dog Vet. And we are thrilled to have his friendly face and the wide spectrum of experience he has brought along.

A 2014 graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Stevens began his career practicing at a 24-hour emergency hospital in Littleton, Colorado where he discovered his passion for orthopedic surgery through a three-year mentorship. In addition to his time in practice, Dr. Stevens also helped develop a low-cost fracture repair program for underserved communities, which resulted in the completion of over 60 fracture repairs in the span of two years. Now that Dr. Stevens is back in his hometown of Madison, he has been performing orthopedic surgeries for over six years including extracapsular CCL repair, patella surgery, FHO, and Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) surgeries. He loves to help our City Dogs but also works closely with Madison-area referring veterinarians for the orthopedic surgery needs of their patients.

Dr. Stevens has been a long-term member of the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. In addition to his wide spectrum of general and orthopedic surgeries, he loves building relationships with clients and taking time to discuss overall wellness, preventative care and management of chronic conditions.

Veterinarian

Dr. Leslee Larson

Dr. Leslee Larson is a proud Wisconsin native, having grown up in Racine. After graduating from the UW Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997, Dr. Larson worked in several small animal clinics in southern Wisconsin. Her practice focus is on wellness and prevention of disease, and educating clients on how to keep their pets healthy and comfortable for as long as possible. In addition to practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Larson has served in the U.S. Army Reserve and taught science classes at Madison College and Globe University. When not caring for furry friends at City Dog, she can also be found next door at Cat Care Clinic.

There have been many pets who have shared their lives with Dr Larson over the years, and she currently has cats, dogs, turtles, and fish. When not caring for her pets, Dr. Larson enjoys running, gardening, and spending time outdoors. She also enjoys struggling to learn German, knit, and play the viola.

Practice Manager and Certified Veterinary Technician

Cathy

Shown here with her lovely senior girl, Maddie, Cathy is our Practice Manager at City Dog Vet. She has many years of experience as a Certified Veterinary Technician, so is still very active overseeing our veterinary care and guiding our support team.
She's always been an animal lover, but dogs hold a special place in her heart. Her friends and family say she has an eagle eye for spotting them when out and about and she tends to be unable to hold back her excitement and often will ask strangers "Can I pet that dog?"
In her free time, she likes being in nature, cycling, practicing yoga, traveling, reading, and soaking up all the great things Madison has to offer.
Certified Veterinary Technician

Gina

Gina is a certified veterinary technician and a devoted dog-person. She thrives on being in a dog-focused environment at City Dog Vet. You'll see her often with her best buddy, Beefcake (the loving, goofy American Bulldog) at her side.

Gina grew up in Clearwater, Florida but has lived in Wisconsin since 2006. She loves the snow!

Gina’s words of wisdom for dog parents: “Enjoy the time you have with them, it’s never long enough!” ❤️

Client Service Representative

Theo

Theo is our receptionist. Other than a brief stint in Milwaukee after high school, Theo has lived in Madison his whole life. He keeps a substantial collection of houseplants, and will often keep some in the clinic too, since his home is running out of room. Theo lives with his partner and cats, as well as his fish and tarantulas! There are plans for a dog at some point too, so keep an eye out!
Veterinary Assistant

Jack

Jack loves working with animals of all kinds, but dogs have a special place in her heart, especially those who are often labeled as aggressive or difficult to work with. She finds it deeply rewarding to help these dogs feel safe, understood, and cared for.
Outside of work, she has traveled to multiple countries and loves exploring new places to experience different foods, cultures, music, and art. Jack also enjoys spending time outdoors, whether it’s hiking, relaxing in nature, or finding new adventures.
